Resource for the EVO or the twincam? What do you want to do? We are not mind readers...Originally Posted by kenuto

I will be putting the twin cam in the bike that was originally a 1991 FLSTC, the evolution engine is going on the shelf for now. I was hoping to find resources that would assist me in this swap. The 2013 is EFI but I will be putting a carb on it.I can get a plate to attach the transmission. The electrical is the most challenging task. I apologize for assuming there was a mind reader amongst you, it is surely not my intention to antagonize.Thank you for your prompt response.

What ignition will you use? Motor mounts at front and top are very different than EVO. Primary mounts might be an issue also. Exhaust mounts different. Wasting your time.

Generally, the Twin Cam will clear an Evo frame backbone. You can use a bolt on rear motor mount adapter that replicates the solid mount rear motor mount dimension. The later Twin Cams went to a redesigned primary to crankcase mounting pattern. That's going to be the trickiest part, but there may be adapters for that as well. It's a do-able swap with a little work.Bob

For all the effort that you'd be doing, why not just re build the EVO?

Hi!You need a stand-alone ignition system for the twincam, I have a Thunder Heart on mine that ustes the crank sensor on the front of the motor.
Then you need a Evo-intake to fit the carb.
As your using the evo electrical system, its pretty straight forward.
Good luck!

Correct me if I am wrong hereBut I believe on the twincam motor the offset is on the motor. So once bolted up using the frame adapter bracket you could run the five speed evo primary (93-99 newer style ofcourse) and a offset spacer between the motor and the primary that gets you the half inch or one inch that it requires.

Right but he would be using just the twincam motor and an evo style five speed. The evo five speed primary would bolt up to the evo tranny and have o be spaced at the moor for the offset. The starter would be evo as well. The compensator sprocket would have to be a newer style one with a older evo clutch with a custom legnth primary chain. If not a open belt with different style pulleys with offset could be used with a custom motor plate

Maybe this will help.2006+ Twin Cam 96" Motor to EVO Frame Adapter Plate
Adapts all Softail and Ridgid EVO Frames to 2006-up Twin Cam 96" 'A' Motors
06-UP T/C-96 'A' motors have a different inner primary bolt pattern and require our primary adapter ring(#4509) and offset transmission base plate(#3539) if using a 1970-2005 inner primary and transmission. Use the drop down list below to add them to your order.
06-UP T/C-96 'A' motors use a 24 Spline motor sprocket shaft and require our 25 Tooth sprocket, for use with 98-up clutch hub assemblys. Use the drop down list below to add them to your order.
Motor Adapter Plate includes: Hardware Oil line Fittings O-Ring
Part # 4508 Price: $141.30

My dad put a carbureted twin cam into his 89 FL. Be prepared to spend at least 5-7k on this by the time you're finished with it (doing it the right way, replacing all needed)
